FCX Developments designs and builds purpose-built rental housing on infill lots in Edmonton's established neighbourhoods, structured from the outset to qualify for CMHC MLI Select financing.
We are a licensed builder in Alberta and British Columbia and act as general contractor on every project, so the build is never handed to another company. FCX is a certified member of IDEA, holds CM-Lean certification from the Associated General Contractors of America, and has 22 units completed, 24 more under development, and a further 16 designed, permitted and sold across Edmonton's mature neighbourhoods.

Under Mauricio Ochoa's leadership, FCX acts as owner's representative on the project, protecting the owner's interests across design, budget, procurement and construction delivery.

Our projects replace tired housing on lots that already have roads, transit and services running past them. More homes on the same land, in neighbourhoods people already want to live in.
Every unit is designed from the ground up for long-term tenants. No retrofits and no compromises made to suit a resale buyer who is never going to exist.
Feasibility, design, permits, financing introductions and construction all sit with FCX. We are the general contractor on site, so nothing is handed off and nobody is waiting on another firm.

1955 – 2026
Jamie was there at the beginning of FCX, and the company exists because he believed in it early. Across a long career in Canadian business he was known less for the deals than for how he treated the people around him: direct, funny, generous with his time, and quick to see more in someone than they saw in themselves. We carry his standard into every project.
